| Maj Linda Bosse, seen with her spouce Capt Mark Bosse, was one of the Toronto Sun's 1997 "Women on the Move Award" recipents. |
Christmas came early to the Bossi home this year, Major Linda Bossi was one of the 10 recipients of this years Toronto Sun’s "Woman on the on Move Award". Then it was off to the RCMI to celebrate with her very proud husband Captain Mark Bossi of the 48th Highlanders. Linda said, "I was flattered just to be nominated, and thrilled when the Sun's Linda Barnard wrote such a nice column about my small part on the DCIEM team (Defence and Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine). When Lifestyle editor Marilyn Linton called and told me I'd been picked to receive an award, well, I couldn't believe it!" Since then, congratulations have been pouring in from across Canada, including a personal letter from the Minister of National Defence, the Honourable Arthur Eggleton. Over three hundred nominations were received, and 150 articles written. Sun judges then chose 10 stories that identified outstanding achievements and contributions. Maj Bossi, who was the only member of the CF selected, added, "I'm just glad I was able to do my part - the Canadian Forces deserve some good press for a change. Each and every one of us - sailor, soldier, or airman - has a good and positive story to tell, and the public deserves to hear it."
