AQUATICS
PRESS OPERATIONS
The Aquatics Centre
at the Athens 2004 Olympics was located at Olympic Sports Complex in Maroussi,
Athens. The Olympic Sports Complex also included the Olympic Stadium, the
Velodrome, and Tennis Centre. The
Aquatics Centre consisted
of two outdoor and one indoor pool. Swimming and Water Polo events were held
at the Main Pool. Synchronised Swimming took place at the Synchronised Swimming
Pool. Water Polo and Diving were held at the indoor pool.
Press Operations at
Aquatics was located beside the Main Pool.
The facility was air conditioned
and took up two floors. The main floor at pool level have workstations approximately
300 journalists. Photographers were accommodated in a room on the first floor
beside a room reserved for news conferences.

THE MAIN
PRESS CENTRE
The Main Press Centre
(MPC) located next to the Olympic Sports Complex in Maroussi, Athens, it
is also beside the International Broadcasting Centre (IBC). The
MPC was the base of operations for international
print and photographic media during the games. It was designed to accomodate
4,400 accredited journalists,
and1,100 accredited photographers, and journalists of non-rights holding media.
The facility was in operation 24 hours a day for over a month.
